Alpyland is an amusement park on the top of the Mottarone.
The Alpine Coaster is similar to a Big Dipper going only downhill. Its distinctive characteristic is that every user can decide at what speed to go. The two-man bobsleighs, indeed, are equipped with a braking system that the passenger on the back seat can actuate for increasing or decreasing the speed. The track is 1200 mt long and develops over a drop of 100 mt.
Open all year. Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
During winter (November to March) the track is open only during weekends and Christmas Holidays. During summer (April to October) it is open every day.
However, in case of midweek trips, we recommend asking confirmation of the opening/closing time for the concerned day by e-mail.

It takes about half an hour from Orta, about 17 km.
In the morning you will have the sun in front of you, while the evening will set behind you. If you are not in the middle of summer, but in low season (early sunset), try to visit the sanctuary during the highlight.
Not far away there is a restaurant, we have never tried it, but it is certainly a very scenic place, it is called Panoramico (link below).
