In Boleto of Madonna del Sasso it is possible to visit the new museum, inserted in the circuit of the Ecomuseo del Lago d ‘Orta and Mottarone. Born from the desire to enhance a trade that, for about two centuries, has characterized this area of ​​the western Cusio, the Museum of the stonemason of Madonna del Sasso aims to make known and deepen the historical experiences of life and work of its inhabitants.

The main interest of the Museum is the hard and dangerous work of the stonemasons, which they exercised from the early decades of the nineteenth century to the second half of the last century, involving the vicissitudes of numerous resident families and local communities. A museum, therefore, that exhibits tools, artifacts, documents, but above all “tells” through videos, historical and iconographic research the stonemason’s profession, in which the Cusians were masters famous all over the world. A museum that can give a just answer to the questions of the traveler passing along both shores of Lake Orta, cannot help but formulate, when the imposing and fascinating granite peak of the Madonna del Sasso appears.
