The Sacred Monte d’Orta is located in northwestern Italy about 90 km from Milan, 110 km from Turin and 45 km from the border with Switzerland.
For those travelling by car, the most convenient motorway exit is Borgomanero, along the A26 Voltri Simplon, located about 15 km from Orta. At the exit of the highway follow the signs for Borgomanero – Gozzano – Orta. Once you arrive at the orta car parks you can leave your car and walk up (about 10 minutes), or climb up to the parking lot at the entrance of the Park.
Buses fail to get on and must be left in the parking lot at the start of the climb.
Those travelling by train must use the Novara – Domodossola line and get off at Orta-Miasino Station. From the station to The S. Monte 20-minute walk.
