Friday 13th December will be a beautiful evening at the Sacro Monte di Orta, a Christmas prelude with 40 high school music students from the Piero Gobetti Higher Education Institute in Omegna, directed and coordinated by Professor Renata Sacchi who accompanied by other teachers will will perform in the Christmas concert in the welcoming setting of the church of San Nicolao.
Two things will be unforgettable: the sweet notes in one of the most beautiful churches of Lake Orta and the view that will open when you exit the church after the concert. It will be something magical, guaranteed!
Now I reveal a little secret that not everyone knows, to the left of Chapel XX (the one near the church), there is a room used for the presentation of a perennial crib (not only for Christmas!). The crib is made up of hundreds of statues moved by hydraulic, electric and electronic mechanisms. Find here his worthy placement because we remember that it was St. Francis who invented this representation of the nativity. We hope that for the occasion of the concert they will leave the room open even in the late evening!
The room also houses the ancient oven (where once terracotta statues were made for the chapels).
